Tour Itinerary
A trip to the island of Mljet is a special experience due to its natural beauty, featuring forests, lakes, animal life, sandy beaches, and the national park in general. The drive to the island takes around one and a half hours, depending on weather conditions.
Stop 1: Saplunara – The Most Beautiful Sandy Beach
The first stop is at the most beautiful sandy beach of the southern Adriatic, Saplunara. It is located deep in the bay, providing a true oasis of peace.
Sailing along the Inner Side of the Mljet Channel
After that, the trip continues along the inner side of the Mljet channel, sailing along the coast so that guests can experience the island from the seaside, enjoying the view towards nature and the rocky cliffs of the island of Mljet full of numerous coves. The island is surrounded by a sea of fascinating turquoise color.
Stop 2: Polače – The Historic Port
In the historic port of Polače, rich with Roman history, which is also the only naturally most protected port in the world, we dock and guests have free time to explore and experience the charms of the island. Note that the ticket for the national park must be purchased at the information desk.

Recommendation: Rent an Electric Bicycle
Our recommendation is to rent an electric bicycle (not included in price) with which you will reach the beautiful salt lakes in the very center of the island much faster. Enjoy the untouched beauty, swim in the lakes, and take the opportunity to taste local delicacies (not included in the price) in the restaurant on the islet of Melita, located in the lake itself. You can easily spend around 4 hours exploring the National Park and it takes just 10 minutes by bike to reach the lakes.
Return Trip and Relaxation
Upon return, the speedboat ride continues along the coast of the island of Mljet, stopping at one of the quiet and beautiful bays where you can relax and refresh yourself in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.
After that, we head to the Elaphiti Islands, where you will have the opportunity to stop at one of the beautiful locations and use the time for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing on the Sundeck of the speedboat.
About Korčula
Korčula is a Croatian island that is approximately 47 km long and 47 nautical miles away from Dubrovnik. The island is part of the central Dalmatian archipelago and has three main settlements: Korčula, Blato, and Vela Luka. The island has a Mediterranean climate, with an average air temperature of 9.8°C (49.6°F) in January and 26.9°C (80.4°F) in July.
History of Korčula
In terms of ancient history, according to legend, the island was founded by the Trojan hero Aeneas or his friend Antenor. The island was first settled by Mesolithic and Neolithic peoples, as evidenced by archaeological findings at the sites of Vela Spila.
The second wave of human settlement was by Illyrians, who arrived in the Balkans around 1000 BC.
Roman Influence on Korčula
The island became part of the Roman province of Illyricum after the Illyrian Wars, and Roman citizens began to settle on the island. Roman villas were built throughout Korčula, and there is evidence of organized agricultural exploitation of the land, as well as archaeological remains of the Roman Julianum and old church foundations.
Marco Polo’s Connection to Korčula
Perhaps the most famous legend surrounding the island is that of Marco Polo, the world-renowned 13th-century traveler. For centuries, it has been believed that Korčula was his birthplace. Although there is no definitive proof, it is known that Marco Polo participated in the naval battle of Venice in 1298 and was subsequently captured by the Genovese army and imprisoned on Korčula. Polo, born in 1254, explored the world and documented his experiences as an advisor to the Mongolian emperor.
The Polo-Depolo family is known to have come from the town of Korčula.
